KHAWAJA NASIRUDDIN CHIRAGH DEHLAVI

He was only 9 years old when his father passed ahead. He later took the oath of allegiance (bayyah) with the great Sufi saint, Hazrat Khawaja Nizamuddin Auliya (QSA) when he was 43 years old. He remained in service of his Murshid (spiritual guide) for sometime and then went back to his mother.

When Hazrat Khawaja Nasiruddin Chiragh Dehlavi's (QSA) followers began to disturb his prayer and spiritual exercise, he requested permission to go to the jungle to pray in peace. But Hazrat Khawaja Nizamuddin Auliya (QSA) ordered him to be. among the people and explained:

"Different people are suitable for different jobs. I ask one person to keep his lips tight and door closed, while I ask another person to add to the number of his disciples. I ask someone to be in the company of the creatures of Allah and to undergo their hardships, but to treat them politely. This is the station of the Prophets and the Friends of Allah."

Hazrat Khawaja Nizamuddin Auliya (QSA) declared Hazrat Khawaja Nasiruddin Chiragh Dehlavi (QSA) as his successor before he passed ahead. He conferred on him all the robes, staffs, and shoes he had received from various saints and asked him to endure hardship with patience and forbearance.

Hazrat Khawaja Nasiruddin Chiragh Dehlavi (QSA) was given the title "Chiragh Dehlavi" which means the Lamp of Delhi because he kept reviving the rites and manners of the saints (awliya). He mostly talked about the Qur'an and Hadith in his gatherings. It was well known that people from all over India and outside came to him in search of religious and spiritual education.

Ya Mere Allah Jumla Ambiya ke wasthey,

Hajathe Barla Meri Kul Awliya ke wasthey

O my Lord, for the sake of all your beloved prophets and saints,

Please fulfill all my needs and remove my pains

Silsila Aaliya e Khushhaliya !!
