RESPECT FOR THE SAHABA
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (Radhy Allahu Anhu) related that our Holy Prophet ﷺ said "Do not criticize my Companions, do not criticize my Companions. By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if one amongst you would have spent as much gold as (Mountain) Uhud, it would not amount to as much as one much on behalf of one of them or half of it.” (Sahih Muslim 2540)
Our great grand shaykh, Hazrat Hasan Dost Farhatullah Shah (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) (QSA) advised that a person should never consider a thought nor have any place in their regarding any criticism of any of the Sahaba (Companions) our Holy Prophet ﷺ.
The only people who think it is permissible to insult any of the Sahaba (Companions) are those who have no deen (religion). This is because the devil whispers in the hearts of people to have these thoughts in order to destroy their faith (iman) and hereafter (akhirat).
