RECITING DUROOD

Hazrat Ibn Mas’ud (Radhy Allahu Anhu) related that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam) said “The closest of people to me on the Day of Resurrection shall be those who send the most prayers upon me.” (Tirmidhi)

Shaykh Mohammad Khushhal’s (Q.S.A) daily practice was to begin reciting salawaat (durood) from the adhan of Fajr. He would recite “Allahuma Salli ‘ala Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadin wa ‘ala aaali Sayyidina wa Mawlana Muhammadin wa barik wa Sallam.”Before the adhan of Maghrib could be heard, he would have completed 10,000 salawaat. He was a true aashiq-e-Rasul and would present the entire count daily as a gift to Rasulullah (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam). This was one of his daily practices for over 50 years. One can only imagine the spiritual state of a man who is immersed in the love of Rasullullah (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Salaam).O’Allah please make us people of salawaat and allow us to attain closeness to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa Sallam).
