“And do not consider those who are killed in Allah’s way to be dead. No, they are alive with their Lord and provided for. (Al-Imran 3:169)
Imam Hussain Radhy Allahu Anhu had the choice to give bayyah to Yazid and live temporarily, or stand up for the truth and die as a martyr. He chose the truth as he is the grandson of our beloved Prophet ﷺ. But who really died and who lived?
We know very little about the people who killed Imam Hussain Radhy Allahu Anhu. They are suffering in their graves and will be raised to an even more terrible punishment on the Day of Judgement. They are dead.
But Imam Hussain Radhy Allahu Anhu is alive and he lives forever. He is loved and remembered by all Muslims until the end of time. He set an example for all Muslims to be brave and and be truthful even when it is not popular. He truly followed the example of his grandfather, Sayyiduna Rasūlullāh ﷺ and he will be one of the leaders of the youth in paradise.
